Disputing information that is on your background check*

​Selfie Background Check provides information that originates directly from courthouse records and public records. One of the main reasons to run a Selfie Background Check is to make sure there are no mistakes on your record that others may run on you.

If you do find something on your Selfie Background Check that is inaccurate, you can reach out to our customer support team to dispute it at [email protected] with the word Dispute in the subject line.  We will re-investigate the information from the courts and provide you with the results within 30 days. 

*Before you Dispute; A Common Issue*
Keep in mind, information that comes up under the Social Security Search may also include other people's information. This does not necessarily mean the information is inaccurate. The Social Security Search is used as an identifier to clearify the identity of the person and the information that comes up on the criminal searches, like the County Criminal Search and the National Criminal Database Search. 

When other people's information comes up on your Social Security Search, it does not necessarily mean that your Selfie Background Check is inaccurate.  There are several reasons why this can occur.  It could mean that another person was associated with you in a transaction or it could simply be that there was a typo in records from a person that had similar information as you.

Not all background checks are 100% accurate and Selfie Background Check does not guarantee any results.  Our process of retrieving records directly from the courthouses for county criminal searches does improve the accuracy of the searches.  However, we are not responsible for any mistakes and/or inaccurate information entered as well as any mistakes and/or inaccurate information reported by the courthouses and/or any databases. 

Courthouse access fees and State MVR fees are determined by these said government agencies, not by Selfie Background Check; and therefore they may change without notice.  Changes are often minimal and rare, and Selfie Background Check will update any changes within a 48 hour period. Selfie Background Check does not mark these fees up.
